Work title: Red dot on a red road

Right after the Shahbag movement, several deaths occurred in Bangladesh during which time Bangladesh lost many of its progressive writers. Avijit Roy is a formidable name among them who was killed right in the heart of Dhaka. I put a red dot and made a circle with powder color on the spot Avijit was murdered and I wanted to survey if the people crossing the pavement stepped on the red circle or not. It occurred to me that if people step on the red dot, it means that they are unconscious or unaware of the killings. But if they do not, it means that the thoughts of these killings still cross through the minds of some people. From a distance I had observed these passerby’s reactions, saw them discussing among them and at that time I covered my face with a red cloth and stood near the red circle. While my face was covered, most people were skipping me but I heard ask ‘ hey, isn’t this place where the man died?’ or ‘ wasn’t Avijit killed here?’.
