Rahul Ananda is a Dhaka based artist, musician, singer and actor. Member of the folk group Joler Gaan, founder partner of the young co-operative of designers Deshal and a leading actor and musician with the dynamic theatre Prachyanat, Rahul Ananda himself is dynamic being.

Rahul is a fine arts graduate from University of Dhaka in graphic design. He was associated with Edinburgh Mela as visual artist and musician since 2002-2004. Rahul is trained in puppet and mask making, playing brass instrument and flute, play writing, video art and digital filmmaking. He also conducts workshops in his adept sectors. Rahul has done eight residency programs in UK, Japan, India, Egypt and Brazil etc as visual artist, musician and actor. His major exhibitions were in National Shilpokola Academy, Dhaka and India, Sacater Foundation Brazil, Tokyo and Ibaraki Japan.

He has achieved honorable mention, Nagorik Nattyangon and Desh Natok Media Best Award, Institute of fine arts, Dhaka University; Sacater Foundation Fellowship, Brazil, Tonushree Podok for best young theatre activist.

Times are now critical. It seems that the entire world is looking for complications in everything. Everything comes at a cost now. Did we ever think that we might someday need to pay for a bottle of water? Or that every word we utter may be counted in monetary exchange? So now we account words in time, a pulse, a minute, ten minutes. And in everything, there are conditions applied. But the only thing that still remains a hundred per cent pure, with no conditions applied is the exchange of love. My performance was a medium through which I wanted the exchange of love with my audiences.
